I have used my contacts at VCU to find out VCU's efforts to understand the treatments related to COV-19, Pneumonia and cancers.

This is what I have found out:
1. The VCU infectious disease department has shown That Vitamin C (I.V. infusion) has shown that it increases survival from pneumonia sepsis by 50% which is also what is a cause of death in COV_19 VIRUSby decreasing HIF-1 in the blood.
2. I reviewed a paper for Nutrition and Cancer Journal several years ago which showed that an infusion of Vitamin C increases survival for stage 4 Lung cancer by more than a year compared to the control group with only standard of care without Vitamin C Infusion.
3. Vitamin C inhibits HIF-1 = (Hypoxia Increase Factor) which causes cytokine storm in Pneumonia and Covid VID-19 Virus when lungs fill with fluid so that oxygen can not get in and it causes blood vessel growth to make Cancer grow faster by getting more fuel from the blood.
4. The Nobel Prize in Physiology in Dec 2019 was AWARDED to 3 scientists who have been studying HIF-1 for the last 30 years showing its importance in cancer and heart conditions.

6. Green Tea extract (9/d) and Super Bio Curcumin (12/day) are what I have used for 15 years from LEF.org to lower my HIF-1 along with 3000mg vitamin C7. 7. 7. Wear a face cover when out.!!!!!

As our understanding of cancer continues to grow the role of our underlying genetics has moved to the forefront of both research and clinical practice. Anybody diagnosed with cancer will find a time that they will need to understand their Hereditary Genetics, also referred to as their Germline Genetics.

Germline genetics are the genes that are passed down to you by your parents, one half from your biological mother and one half from your biological father. In many cancers, including prostate cancer your germline genetics can change your risk for developing cancer, change your risk for how aggressive your cancer might be and can also factor into the possibility that certain treatments might or might not be effective for you.

Given the importance of knowing about your germline genetics, Cancer ABCs wants you to know that if you have prostate cancer there is currently a genetic company, Invitae that is offering you an opportunity to have your germline genetics tested for free. They will also offer you, for free, access to a genetic counselor who will review with you your test results and help you understand what they might mean for you and your family.

To Qualify for these free services, you must have either:

-Gleason Score 6 or less (age at diagnosis 55 years or younger)
-Gleason score of 7 or greater (any age)
-Metastatic PC (any age)
-There are a few more criteria but this is most of them.

Development of artemisinin compounds for cancer treatment.

Author's information - Abstract

Artemisinin contains an endoperoxide moiety that can react with iron to
form cytotoxic free radicals. Cancer cells contain significantly more intracellular
free iron than normal cells and it has been shown that artemisinin and its analogs
selectively cause apoptosis in many cancer cell lines. In addition, artemisinin
compounds have been shown to have anti-angiogenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-metastasis
and growth inhibition effects. These properties make artemisinin compounds attractive
cancer chemotherapeutic drug candidates. However, simple artemisinin analogs are
less potent than traditional cancer chemotherapeutic agents and have short plasma
half-lives, and would require high dosage and frequent administration to be effective
for cancer treatment. More potent and target-selective artemisinin-compounds are being
developed. These include artemisinin dimers and trimers, artemisinin hybrid compounds
and tagging of artemisinin compounds to molecules that are involved in the intracellular
iron-delivery mechanism. These compounds are promising potent anticancer compounds
that produce significantly less side effect than traditional chemotherapeutic agents.
